Cardigan or Smock Top with Chevron Design
Perfect for boys or girls! Wear as a smock style jumper (buttoned at the back) or as a cardigan with long or short sleeves.
You will need: 300m DK yarn, a 4.00mm hook (or as appropriate for gauge) and a needle for neatening ends.
You will also need: 1-4 buttons as per the chosen style. These will need to be sized to fit through pairs of htr in the button band - approximately 13mm (½”) diameter.
Instructions are given for two sizes (approximate ages only):
0-3 months - 40cm (16”) chest
3-6 months - 45cm (18”) chest.
Gauge: 14sts and 8 rows to 10cm (4”) - measured over trebles.
It is also possible to work the first size in a smaller hook (3.50mm) for a small newborn - 35cm (14”) chest fitting. The gauge to achieve this is 16sts and 9 rows to 10cm (4”) - measured over trebles.
