This 8ply Beret style Beanie is worked in an easy block stitch and can be worn several ways. Wear it as a Beret, a slouchy Beanie or turn up the brim to create a firmer fit Beanie. It is worked in the round, so no sewing up required.
If you like this style of beanie but prefer to work in rows, on a pair of needles, and have a seam, please see my Audrey pattern.
To fit head: 52 (54-55-56) cm 20½ (21¼-21¾-22) inches.
Yarn required: 1 (1-1-1) ball Creative Basics Esther 8ply, 100g balls@220m.
Needles required: A set of 3.25mm (UK 10, US 4) double-pointed knitting needles OR A 3.25mm (UK 10, US 4) circular knitting needle, 40cm long.
A set of 4.00mm (UK 8, US 6) double-pointed knitting needles.
A 4.00mm (UK 8, US 6) circular knitting needle, 40cm long – optional.
Wool needle for sewing in ends.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.
