Positano Cowls
Positano is a perfect quick knit: fun, interesting, not too difficult. I adore this stitch pattern for its simplicity and versatility. The Super Bulky version (medium size) takes one skein. It can be made larger if you’ve got more yarn, but it will do a lot with a little. Take a look at what a statement it makes!
This is a great way to learn Cat Bordhi’s Moebius Cast on!
Positano & Steps to Positano
Don’t have a ball of Super Bulky? Then take the Steps to Positano route to use what you have. The Steps to Positano Calculator will give you the numbers you need. I’ve done videos to take you from the start to the finish — and explain everything in between.
Both versions of the pattern have written instructions and Action charts. Plus the work sheet for figuring out your personal Steps to Positano version.
I’ve been deep in the joys of spread sheets (sometimes overcoming the pain) while teaching A System of Grading, and as I use them more and more in creating the numbers for my patterns, I wanted to try out giving you the opportunity to see if it works for you. It will save me having to write this out in every gauge.
Video Tutorials
I’ve created Steps to Positano tutorial videos: 1) How to take gauge with a quick explanation of how to calculate when you have less than 4″ (there is a page in the work sheet for this!); 2) how to determine the neck circumference for a Möbius; 3) how to measure the outer circumference; 4) how to use the Steps to Positano Work Sheet; and 4) how to use the written pattern. There is also a video for how to do the elongated stitch bind off.
The pattern includes a combined road map and schematic for the Super Bulky and for the Steps to Positano.
