Put your passion in your fashion!

They provide us with the best fibre known to humankind, so of course knitters love sheep! Declare that love with this cosy hat, designed for woolly comfort in cold weather. Featuring sheep and shepherd’s plaid, it will definitely suit ewe!

To make Shornies at the tension/gauge given above you will need up to 115 metres/126 yards of your main colour, and up to 230 metres/252 yards of contrast colour. The pictured sample was knitted with baa ram ewe Dovestone DK, a wonderfully sheepy 100% British wool yarn, full of Yorkshire loveliness!

The tension/gauge given above is for the stranded colourwork in the main body of the hat. Tension/gauge in the brim is 24 sts and 32 rounds per 10cm/4” in blocked k2, p2 rib.

Please note this pattern only includes instructions for knitting the hat, not the matching cowl and fingerless mittens. You can find the Gimmers fingerless mittens pattern here and the Dewlap cowl pattern here.
