Hansi Singh
Knitter and designer of creatures, particularly peculiar ones.
I self-publish most of my designs as individual patterns, available for download here on Ravelry. I’ve published one book, Amigurumi Knits released in 2009 by Creative Publishing International. Though I’m happy to have had the experience of working with a big publisher and putting together such a pattern collection, it is a process that I will likely never repeat, given the stress of the process as well as other commitments in my life. Knitting and designing gives me joy; putting together a large collection of patterns on a deadline does not.
If you enjoy knitting peculiar creatures, please visit For Lovers of Hansigurumi Creatures, a group dedicated to such peculiar knits. This group also has a collection of errata for my book that is useful.
Here is an interview with Craft magazine that I did several years ago (when I first started designing), where I chatted about my knitting interests and creative process.
