Ada Lovelace
Why Ada? Because she approached mathematics and science with creativity and a never-ending desire for new discoveries. When introduced to the Analytical Engine, a mechanical general-purpose computer designed by Charles Babbage, she was bewitched. She instantly foresaw that computers could do more than maths calculations if programmed correctly. It was entirely her idea that codes could be created and fed into computers, so Ada is considered to be the first programmer.
