The simple pullover shape is embellished with knitted-in horizontal and vertical lines and bobbles in an arrangement of four squares forming the quadrants of a bigger square centered on the front and back , and some random lines and bobbles on sleeves and hems. The horizontal bars are made as welts. The designs are charted. Explanations for the five-row welt and the 3-stitch bobble are given in the pattern.

The construction includes short-row shoulders, three-needle bind-off for the shoulders, sleeves picked up from the armholes and knit top-down, and a folded hem at the bottom.

Additional materials: Markers; stitch-holders; tapestry needle.
