DESIGN NOTES
Brancaster is a deceptively simple triangular shawl inspired by the wide sandy beaches at Brancaster in North Norfolk. The wide sandy beach and dunes are cut with old sea defences. Where groins meet the tide and horizon forming strong geometric shapes.
The design features big bold geometric colour work knitted using intarsia technique, with a neat knit as you go edging. Knitted in garter stitch. Shaping is achieved with increases and decreases. Making for a fun but simple knit.
PATTERN NOTES
Brancaster is knitted sideways from point to point in garter stitch with a neat knit-as-you-go edge. Beginning at the left tip, the shawl increases until the centre point is reached. From here the shawl decreases until the right tip is reached.
The design is divided into eight colour Blocks worked using intarsia technique.
