Here a winding river of lace runs through banks of simple, squishy Garter stitch in a design that ebbs and flows with increases and decreases. Choose one skein of fingering weight or two skeins of DK, and set sail on a relaxing river cruise.

Needles
Size 4 mm/US #6 (5 mm/US #8) straight or circular needles 60 cm/24” or longer, to accommodate a moderate number of sts.
At least one DPN or spare needle of approximately the same size, for turning and grafting the I-cord sts.

Removable stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge
24 (17) sts and 32 (32) rows over 10 cm / 4 inches in Garter stitch.
The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage.
