“When knitting a flat, circular design, you usually increase eight stitches every other round. Break that rule and change the number of increases and the circle becomes a square, hexagon, heptagon, or octagon. Magic!”

This pattern offers a wedge of lace that can be repeated 4 to 8 times around to make a four to eight sided shape (square up to octagon). The instructions are fully written plus a chart is given. One skein would yield a five trivet set, one of each shape.
