Circular Tea Cloth
Notes from the book:
This delightful circular cloth features a lace petal and leaf design set off with a feather-and-fan border. It is knitted in rounds from the centre outwards. Begin by using a set of four double-pointed needles, then move on to a circular needle, changing lengths as required. Designed to be worked by an expert knitter who has had experience in knitting in the round, the lace cloth would look attractive laid over a plain cloth in a deep colour which would show off the intricacy of the design. Alternatively, it could be used alone as the centrepiece on a polished wooden dining table. When all the knitting has been completed, sew in the ends and spend some time pinning out and blocking the cloth to enhance the beauty of the wave-patterned edging.
