Summer is so enjoyable, with its gorgeous daylight and its sweet breezes that are just cold enough to put a little shawl over our shoulders. Daylight shawl is the perfect shawlette for those cool summer days or fresh evenings. This one-skein wonder combines lace, cables and garter stitch. With its easy sideways construction and short yardage you’ll be ready to warm up those shoulders in no time!

Adaptable shawl or shawlette: If you prefer bigger shawls, the pattern is easily adaptable. The sample shawl was made using 375 yards of fingering weight and this resulted in a tiny shawlette. Test-knitters used up to 800 yards of different weights, from laceweight yarn to DK, and created gorgeous variations. The ends (CO and BO) of the shawlette can also be sewn together to create a cowl.

Difficulty: Intermediate knitter - basic stitches, basic lace stitches, basic cables.

Pattern includes both charted and written instructions for the lace section.
