DEEP SUMMER SHADE SHAWL/WRAP
Summer isn’t the time for hard. Everything should be easy, relaxing, and even fun. When it comes to knitting, projects have to be portable, light on the lap, with lots of ventilation to allow the air to pass through. We can’t be getting hot and bothered when it’s roasting outside.
So, after considering what I want to wear now, I designed this shrug/ wrap with a basic mesh stitch banded by seed and garter. I added a bit of feather & fan along the ‘cuffs’ and along one long edge to increase the versatility as well as to pretty things up. Wear it with the feather and fan border up and it becomes a collar, wear it down and it enhances the bottom border. All it takes to turn the wrap into a shrug is to whip-stitch the two ends into a loose cuff.
The design is virtually reversible.
I’d label this design Easy Intermediate since the mesh stitch requires a basic lace technique. That’s the only thinking you’ll need to do.
