Devington is a long crescent shawl worked in garter stitch with Stockinette stitch short rows that create texture as well as an asymmetrical shape. A cable worked right at the bottom edge as you bind off creates a beautiful braid to finish.

The finished measurements, after blocking, are a wingspan of approx. 69” and a center back length of approx. 17.5”.

The gauge of 18 sts and 22 rows is measured after blocking. While exact gauge is not crucial, it will affect the finished size of the shawl and the amount of yarn used.

The directions are written, row by row within each section, so it’s easy to keep track of where you are in the pattern.

The cable edging at the bottom is joined to the shawl body as it is worked, creating a beautiful braid along the edge.

You will need approximately 585 yards of fingering weight yarn, a US size 4 (3.5mm) 32” circular needle, and a cable needle.
