This shawl features a unique cable stitch that is combined with a traditional Shetland lace stitch. Combined, they make a striking shawl. It is a fun knit, and goes fairly quickly as it’s knit using heavy fingering weight yarn. For those of you that enjoy knitting cable lace, I think this cable will intrigue you. Even most veteran cable knitters will probably find this particular cable new and different from most that they have knitted.

The stitches are charted out only.

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of cable and lace knitting).

The shawl/stole was expertly test knitted by Debi Maige, who can be reached at: locations@verizon.net. The shawl was knitted with Handmaiden’s Casbah yarn, in colorway, Silver. The final measurement is approximately 23 inches x 72 inches, and requires approximately 1050 yards.

There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
