The good luck wedding symbol in Great Britain of the horseshoe inspired me to create the Double Horseshoe Pi Wedding Shawl. It has double the luck, because not only is it knitted in the shape of a horseshoe, the lace pattern in this piece is called the horseshoe pattern.

In addition to “doubling the luck,” I bordered the shawl with “rice” in the form of seed stitch.

The challenge for this piece was “bending” the lace into a horseshoe shape. I figured it out, and you’ll find it easy to achieve!
