Ethan's College Blanket
Concept: make the kid a blanket and send him off to college! Well, he wanted it to be soft and stretchy. Definitely not itchy. And I had to use the school colors…but he was not going to really want it “purple and gold”! So…I designed this preppy plaid afghan, with enough detail to keep me interested while knitting in the love, yet a “cool” factor for him. The black backround helps to hide the grime.
Maybe use the school’s color as the main color it that works for your student, and switch up the vertical stripes. My next one will be a grey backround with royal blue and white stripes…as another child goes off to college!
Pattern uses a US size 7 needle and 13 skeins of Artyarns Ultramerino 8 (each approx 100g/188yds)
Finished Measurement is 40” x 58”
