NOTES AND TECHNIQUES

Eylul Shawl is worked from the bottom, beginning with lace patterns worked from charts. Decreases are made before and after the Turkish Lamp Stitch pattern, which is worked from written instructions. German short rows and changes in needle size further shape the shawl to create a gentle curve and a centre that is deeper than the ends.

The shawl is worked from charts with many pattern repeats. In the beginning, it may be easier to keep track of the charts if you place markers between every 2 or 3 pattern repeats. Remove markers after you have established the pattern and do not need the markers anymore.
