Fairy Blanket
Here is my Fairy Blanket! This quirky little fairy garden would make a delightful gift for a young child as well as being funky enough for your faerie-loving best friend!
Previously published by Shoediva, this Fairy Blanket is changing home to ShoedivaOriginals storefront. No changes have been made to the original pattern
Designed to suit your yarn and your gauge, the blanket is worked from clear numbered charts and includes EIGHTEEN different charted block patterns. Sock yarn will result in a small blanket; double knit or sport weight yarn will make a blanket fit for a cot / cot bed, and using worsted yarn will make a lovely fairy garden throw! The characters are friendly, and the motifs can also be used to decorate a wide range of accessories for the faerie lover in your life - from cushions to sweaters and bags!
Usually for worsted weight yarn I would use between a 5mm and 6mm set of needles to get the drape I like (no surprise that I have way too many 5.5mm hooks and needles in my grab bag!) 5mm is great for a somewhat hardier material, perfect for a floor blanket (and I back mine with polar fleece, quilting along the edges of the squares once sewn together) while 6mm have more drape (but weave those ends in well if you tend to knit a little looser than the gauge on the ballband).
Basically, with the way these patterns work, you could use any weight of yarn; just work to the yarn gauge and needle size uniformly over the blanket and it will all be fine & dandy.
The blanket is priced at $10.00 representing a saving of $35.00 on buying the charts individually. No refunds can be given for buying the charts separately and then deciding to download the blanket.
Thanks are due -
The ‘show’ blanket was knitted by the fabulously wonderful rjhuggz who gave freely of her time and patience (and then photographed it all for me!) She is who you need to thank if you find the pattern a breeze - any problems, it’s down to me! I’m just a pm away :)
This pattern is sold for personal use only!
