This pattern is for a pair of ornately cabled socks. The cable itself is a cable that some to us from Canada and the creative mind of Annie Maloney, and is just perfect for socks. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable, but enough unusual cabling to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The front and the back of the socks are the same until the heel flap.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

The cable stitch both charted and written out line by line.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge

The sock pictured here was made with Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock yarn, in colorway, Curie.

The sample was expertly tested by Anjali Datta, who can be reached at: adatta @utexas.edu
