Forest and water create perfect synergy: the flowing surface overlaced by the twining branches of tree and leaf. To those living by water, the combination may evoke gazing at a beach through a tangle of branches or the way in which a forest reflects inside a river pool or lake
.
The beauty of the natural world inspires my designs with this collection capturing my passion for my Nova Scotian home. May it help transport you to someplace beautiful, natural and free.

The Forest Canopy top is for loose layering over or under something you love. Imagine it as a shell under a jacket or skimming over a favorite tee. In cooler weather, swap the tee for a sweater and layer both under something warm.

The glory of this piece is in the play of color and texture, all designed to capture eye-interest through an evocative stitch playing with beautiful yarns. The sides are open on both sides with buttons fastening the lower edges.

I used size 11 US/8 mm needles to create a light, open, look that measures 26 inches across the bottom edge post-blocking. The stitch is worked in groups of 15 with each group measuring approximately 3.5 inches across, post-blocking. Because variations in yarn thickness are used throughout, gauge is not fixed.
