This airy scarf or stole is light enough to float away on a breeze, yet provides the perfect amount of coverage for a crisp fall morning. The cable twists placed at each corner of the openwork diamonds give the fabric just the right amount of weight to form beautifully draped folds along its bias lines. The design features asymmetrical edgings for an interesting twist. The fabric is complex to the eye, but in fact is a cinch to work—the motif is made up entirely of eyelets and simple decreases with a few cable crossings; wrong side rows are worked mostly in purl.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and drape.
