Pattern includes a worksheet enabling you to customize the cowl for any gauge yarn and any size.

Long version: 40” bottom circumference before blocking, 48” after blocking

This version used Patagonia Organic Merino (100% wool, 382 yds/100g) for MC and Feederbrook Farms Entropy DK (100% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 260 yds/100g) for CC.
The sample cowl required 280 yds MC and 60 yds CC.

Short version: 30” bottom circumference before blocking, 36” after blocking

This version used Leviathan Fibres Polwarth DK
(100% Polwarth wool, 328 yds/100g) for MC and
Leviathan Fibres Bellingham Bay Tweed (80% Bluefaced Leicester wool, 20% neps, 437 yds/100g) for CC. The
CC yarn was doubled to approximate DK weight gauge.
The sample cowl required 180 yds MC and 50 yds CC (100 yds doubled).
