Basic stitch repeat is 25 stitches wide and 18 rows tall. The original stitch repeat, knit with two strands of Knitivity Phydlbitz Sock on size 5 needle, is 4 inches wide and 2 inches tall. Yours may vary based on size/type yarn used, and size needles used.

Pattern for baby blanket is written so the knitter can add or eliminate sections as needed to make project wider or narrower, shorter or taller, such as a long rectangular stole, knitted in lace weight single strand on smaller needles to desired length, or knitted on larger needles with worsted weight to cover a full size bed.

Original blanket as pictured is knit with TWO strands of Phydlbitz held together throughout, working from undyed coned yarn, approximately 2.25-2.50 pounds, which would be 9 or 10 skeins of Phydlbitz (4300 yards), or about 2150 yards of sport weight knit single strand, but can be knit with any size yarn. I would recommend a solid color, in lighter tones, in order to highlight the texture and stitch patterns.

Pattern provides both charts and line-by-line instructions, with EVERY line included.
