Why Helen? Because she is a perfect example of resilience. In her early childhood she caught a strong fever that left her both blind and deaf. With the help of a one-of-a-kind teacher, and life-long friend Anne Sullivan, she slowly learnt to speak and to read braille. She even studied several other languages, such as French, German, Latin and Greek, and was the first deaf-blind person to get a college degree - and she did so with high honors!
