I am very inspired by tradtional textiles. This afghan is based on African kente cloth, which is woven in strips and sewn together to make the yardage. I chose the traditional colors of yellow, saffron, green and red, but this would also look great in mudcloth colors--spicy browns and ivory. A chart is included to show the order of blocks in the strips and to show how to sew the strips together. Jambo means HELLO!
