Jörd is a study in contrasts. Pairing a super bulky, rustic Icelandic Lopi with an open lace pattern results in an eye-catching garment full of character and strength. Despite using a super bulky yarn, Jörd is an open vest with lots of swing and flattering drape. The rustic wool keeps you plenty warm; yet the lace pattern keeps things breathable! Jörd comes in two hip lengths and multiple bust sizes; flattering for all different body shapes and heights.

SIZES: SM, ( M/ L, 1X, 2X)

  • Cross Back Measurement: 12, (14, 16, 18)” / 30.5, (35.5, 40.5, 45.75) cm back width between armholes, based on final blocked fabric.

  • Please note: cross back measurement is more important than bust circumference in this pattern. Size recommendations are listed below based on ‘standard’ cross back measurements for different bust sizes, but I recommend measuring your own back as these things can vary from person to person. (pattern includes instructions on how to correctly measure to find the size that fits you best!)

  • Based on standard cross back measurement: Bust sizes 30-34 would typically knit size SM
Bust sizes 35-39 would typically knit size M/L
Bust sizes 40-44 would typically knit size 1X
Bust sizes 45-52 would typically knit size 2X

MATERIALS: (Note: extra yardage is built into the yardage numbers for a generous swatch)

Jörd is a separate addition to The Wool Project collection, a previously published e-book. The Wool Project is more than just a pattern collection. It’s a catalyst to spark your journey of exploration through the wonders of wool. Each of the patterns in The Wool Project was chosen to showcase a particular breed-specific wool yarn; to give knitters a taste of the distinct characteristics of each sheep’s fleece transformed into a beautiful skein of yarn.
