This is a pattern for an ornately wide cabled scarf. There are also instructions contained within the pattern for a stole, (19 inches wide) a shawl 23 inches wide, and a narrow scarf, (8 inches wide) giving you the choice of what you’d like to make. The focal cable is primarily 2 stitch cables, making it a faster knit if you can cable without a needle.

This scarf is knitted with sport weight yarn. The scarf is approximately 12 inches x 78 inches, but can be altered as stated above, and requires approximately 1000 - 1200 yards. The focal cable stitch comes to us from Canada and the creative mind of Annie Maloney.

The stitches are both charted and written out.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling .)

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged.

The yarn used in the sample is Handmaiden’s BFL Sport, and the piece was expertly tested by Cathy B, who can be contacted at: CBurke8013@aol.com.
