Ladies' Shawl
This pattern is
available for free.
This s a vintage pattern from a crochet book published in 1912. The link is to the page with the beginning of the pattern, the entire book is available online as a free PDF download from the Hathi Trust.
The basic pattern is a very easy bottom-up shawl worked in one piece, with a design that alternates a shell-between-shell with a shell-in-shell stitch pattern. It works up incredibly quickly with a lovely fluffy texture!
This pattern should work equally well with nearly any yarn weight, and the very simple basic triangle design would lend itself to a variety of border designs beside the one shown in the book.
