Lonely Socks Club: Entrelac Sock
One of three “Lonely Socks”. The three socks are made with a total of 460 yards (420m) of yarn.
A pair of not-so-lonely Entrelac socks can be made with a total of 322 yards (294m) of yarn.
The pattern for Entrelac Sock is on p.75 of the book. Please note the original sock is cuff-down and there is no instructions for toe-up version in the book.
Note on working the cuff
Despite being worked in the same direction as RS tiers, it might be convenient to perceive the cuff from the inside of the sock. This way you’re supposed to turn the work after each cuff rectangle in order to cable cast on stitches for the next one or to move to the beginning of Tier 2 after making last cuff rectangle.
Please note the sock isn’t joined in the round until end of Tier 2!
Note on working the heel
After the Heel tier 6 is finished, pick up and purl 5 along edge rectangle of Heel tier 1, then turn and resume work in the round as for Leg, starting from Tier 3 of RS rectangles and beginning the first RS rectangle of the first Foot tier from Row 2 (as in Heel tier 5). The first Foot tier completes the heel. It may also be considered as “Heel tier 7” which doesn’t stop after 5th RS rectangle and continues around the foot.
