The Loveable Lion blanket is a square blanket good for use as a baby seat throw or nap time snuggling blanket. Who wouldn’t love the textured mane (picot stitch) or the cage like cables running parallel to the lion? The word LION at the top and bottom adds just a touch of whimsy to the overall design.

Designed for the advanced beginner or intermediate knitter, this pattern is a good introduction to a basic back cable stitch and the picot stitch. It is worked on a size 6 circular needle using 800-900 yards dk yarn ( I used 6 1/2 50 gram skeins for this project). The finished size is approximately 29”x29”.
