Magic Lanterns
by Anna Dalvi
Magic Lanterns is inspired by the magical lamps and lanterns found all over the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
The shawl covered with a number of different lanterns, some glowing brighter and others with smaller pinprick lights. The lanterns spread from the top of the shawl towards the bottom. The warm glow of the lanterns then spread in a soft, wavy pattern and recede in the darkness.
Magic Lanterns is part of Anna Dalvi’s book Shaping Shawls, available from Cooperative Press.
