Mandala in Irish Crochet
This is an Irish Crochet motif. Therefore, for those who are not familiar with this technique, I highly recommend that you do familiarize yourself with it, before you start working on this motif.
You’ll need to know how to work with Packing Cord.
This pattern contains step-by-step pictures; it is a written pattern and photo-tutorial. The advanced crocheters might find it overwhelming for the very detailed instructions… but I tried to write a pattern suitable for everyone, beginners and experienced alike.
The motif can be done in one single color, or in many different ones; it is a Mandala after all :)
The best threads to use are cottons, you can also try flax/linen, even silk. I only had time to try it out with Cotton and that type of fiber is recommended in the pattern too.
Don’t pay attention to the gauge listed above… gauge here is really N/A, unfortunately ravelry doesn’t have such an option where you don’t have to choose or mention a gauge.
The pattern is 29 pages long, due to the many photos; it might seem confusing at times, but I suggest that you follow those instructions exactly as they are written literally, and I don’t see you struggling with understanding or following it.
Well, I hope you like it and share your own at the end for everyone else to see!
Goodluck!
