This is a listing for a pattern for a delicate lace shawl made using fingering weight yarn.. This is the perfect shawl for an air conditioned restaurant, or chilly fall or spring evening. The focal lace stitch is an unusual one and a “true lace” stitch, and is fairly easily learned, once worked. It adds a unique interest to the body of the shawl. The shawl is finished with a one of the Shetland Edgings and is attached in the usual Shetland manner, but there have been (optional) beads added if you enjoy “dressing up” your shawls a bit. There are different ways to add beads to your knitting contained within the pattern.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

This pattern was expertly tested by Mary Jo Calwell who can be reached at: Mjc2826@gmail.com. the yarn used in the sample was Handmaiden’s Casbah in colorway, pumpkin, and the beads are Toho #6 in colorway #461.
