This shawl is the result of a collaboration with Anne from Les Petits Points Parisiens. As I am a pink lover, I could not resist the bright colors she offered me to design this shawl. I wanted a stole and I let my imagination travel through my memories and draw on my Celtic origins. The Merida shawl is a concentrate of pleasure, beautiful colors, frequent changes of sections to rhythm the knitting. And particularly, you’ll find just enough lace and textures borrowed from the traditional knitting islands of northern Europe, and cables. The shawl is worn on the shoulders or wrapped around the neck, it is also possible to keep it with a pretty brooch.

The shawl has a simple construction, in the bias, except for the lace section at the beginning and the end of the shawl. You will make an increase at the beginning of each row (knit in the front strand and in the back strand - kfb) and a decrease at the end of each row (SSK, unless something else is mentioned).

• Yarn : I used the single fingering weight base Les petits points Parisiens (400 yards - 366m/100g) Colour 1: 1 skein in the Hippie Chic colourway (or approx. 312 yards / 286 m of fingering weight yarn). Colour 2: 1 skein in the Pigalle colourway (or approx. 288 yards / 264 m of fingering weight yarn) . Colour 3: 1 skein in the Pain d’épice colourway (or approx. 400 yards / 366 m of fingering weight yarn). Approx. 1040 yards / 950 m of fingering weight yarn.

• Suggested needles US 6 / 4 mm / 32’’ / 60 cm circular needles.

• Notions: Waste yarn, scissors, cable needle, hook, tapestry needle.

• Gauge: 24 sts x 32 rows to 4’’ / 10 cm on US 6 / 4 mm needles in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Ce châle est le fruit d’une collaboration avec Anne des Petits Points Parisiens. Amoureuse du rose, je n’ai pas su résister aux teintes vives et tellement lumineuses qu’elle m’a proposées pour concevoir ce châle. J’ai eu envie d’une étole et j’ai laissé mon imagination voyager au fil de mes souvenirs et puiser dans mes origines Celtes. Le châle Merida est donc un concentré de plaisir, de belles couleurs, de changements fréquents de sections pour rythmer l’avancée du tricot, de points à 2 couleurs et surtout : juste ce qu’il faut de dentelle et de textures empruntées au tricot traditionnel des îles du nord de l’Europe, et de torsades. Le châle se porte sur les épaules ou enroulé autour du cou, il est aussi possible de le maintenir avec une jolie broche.

Le châle a une construction simple, dans le biais, sauf pour la section dentelle en début et en fin de châle et les sections point mousse bicolore et brioche, nous ferons sur chaque rang endroit une augmentation en début de rang (tricoter dans le brin avant et dans le brin arrière) et une diminution en fin de rang (GGT, sauf si autre chose est mentionné).

• Fil : J’ai utilisé la base single fingering Les petits points Parisiens (366m/100g) Couleur 1: 1 écheveau coloris hippie chic (ou approx. 286 m de fil fingering) Couleur 2: 1 écheveau Pigalle (ou approx. 264 m de fil fingering) Couleur 3: 1 écheveau pain d’épice (ou approx. 366 m de fil fingering) Soit un total d’environ 950 m de fil fingering. Il est à noter que le métrage peut varier si votre laine/échantillon sont différents de ce qui est conseillé.

• Aiguilles: Aiguille circulaire de 4 mm, câble de 100 cm. Ajustez votre taille d’aiguilles afin d’obtenir le bon échantillon.

• Petit matériel: Ciseaux, chute de laine, aiguille auxiliaire, crochet, aiguille à laine.

• Échantillon: 24 mailles x 32 rangs pour 10 cm de point jersey avec les aiguilles 4 mm, après blocage.
