This long wingspan shawl features two distinct knitting patterns. The focal stitch is a true lace, and the edging is a famous one from the Shetland Islands. Together they make a beautiful shawl, which can be worn in many different ways. The very wide wingspan allows you to wear it in a variety of ways.

The shawl measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 29 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a heavier of the fingering weight yarns, and is knit on size 6(U.S.) needles. The shawl requires approximately 1250 yards of yarn making it both a perfect warm lacy shawl for the fall.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The yarn used in the sample is Hat Box by Mrs. Crosby, in colorway Hollywood Cerise.

The shawl was expertly test knitted byMimi Sevimli who can be contacted at, karal3@ yahoo.com.
