This scarf with Norwegian motifs is worked in the round and blocked flat so that it is double-sided, for extra warmth and thickness. Rather than a traditional fringe, it has a fringe made from knitted-on i-cords.

The pattern instructions are written out, but the colorwork motifs are charted only.

The scarf is knit from fingering weight yarn: 1680 yards Color A and 1400 yards Color B. The scarf shown was knit with Shalimar Breathless Fingering (75% Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk, 100 grams, 420 yards): 4 skeins in Bark (Color A) and 4 skeins in Peachy Keen (Color B).

You will need a U.S. size 3 (3.25mm) or size to attain gauge – one circular needle 24” long and two double-pointed needles the same size to work the i-cord fringe.
