Pattern Notes:

This 3 colour T-shirt is knit seamlessly from the top down. It has a round neck and slightly dropped shoulders. Short rows are knit at the shoulders on both front and back.

The first parts are knit flat, and then the sleeves and body are knit in the round. The neckline can be finished with either an i-cord or garter stitch.

The pattern includes a few diagrams to help visualize the construction!

Skills used to knit this pattern include: knitting flat and in the round, various increase and decrease techniques, picking up stitches, short rows, casting on, binding off. (Generally speaking, I would call this an intermediate level of knitting).

Fit:

The T-shirt is intended to fit with approximately 7-12 cm (3 - 5 inches) of positive ease around the chest, but of course it’s entirely up to you! Detailed measurements are provided on a schematic diagram.

Sample shown is size S2 with about 12 cm (5 inches) of positive ease.

The length of the body is 30 cm (12 inches) from the underarm, but can easily be made longer or shorter. If lengthening the body, you may need more yarn than noted below.

The pattern includes tips on how to make the sleeves a bit larger or smaller as well.

Yarn:

Any DK yarn that works at the pattern gauge may be used. I knit my pink and grey sample in Tanis Fibre Arts Willow DK (65% silk, 35% linen).

The linen and silk give it some drape. You can use a similar fibre, but it is not necessary. Yarns containing cotton, alpaca, wool, etc. would work as well. A few ideas are included in the yarns noted above. (The Holst Garn Coast needs to be held double to get a DK gauge).

If your yarn choice results in a higher row gauge (up to 36 rows/rounds per 10 cm (4 inches)), the pattern includes what adjustments to make for that.
