No matter where my knit designing takes me, I often return to lace and garter stripes. Here, they join an asymmetrical shape: the lace stitch is easy to memorize and the garter stripes are simple.

The finished shawl has a wingspan of 58” and a back length of 22.75”. These measurements are after blocking, and your measurements may vary slightly depending on how aggressively you block the shawl.

You will need:

  • Approximately 200 yards each of three contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn
  • US size 5 (3.75mm) 32” circular needle

This design is for the Adventurous Beginner/Intermediate knitter as well as for the more advanced knitter who is in a mood for a fun but meditative project.
