This pattern is for a lace ponchette using fingering or sport yarn. It is knitted in the round, so there is no sewing involved. There are guidelines for optional beading.

Size small is knitted in fingering yarn, while size large uses sport weight. Use US size 4 and 6 (3.50mm and 4.00mm) circular needles for the smaller size and US size 6 and 8 (4.00mm and 5.00mm) for size large. Knitters with tighter gauge will need larger needles.

You willl need at least 400 yards or 366 meters of yarn. It is recommended that you have additional yarn for this project if you’d like a longer or size large ponchette.

This pattern uses size 6 or E beads, though they are optional. 224 is probably all you will need, but this is according to your preference. You may use a size 12 US crochet hook (1mm) or a piece of wire for beading.
