Knitter’s magazine: “What better choice for your fall office wearing than a figure-flattering, tunic-length, A-line jacket with slimming vertical lines. Linda makes this one easy enough for an advanced beginner to attempt.”
Linda Cyr: “When I designed this jacket, I wanted it to be the kind of knitting project where you did not have to refer to the directions all the time, but would still have interesting details that would make it rewarding to knit. I love designing details and the figure flattering A-line shaping, vertical lines, and border interest satisfied my needs. I like knitting projects that can be picked up, put down, and toted around, not to mention, quick to knit! The geometric nature of the lace border makes it easy to tell where you are in the pattern, and the even spacing of the A-line shaping and buttonhole rows are easy to follow. The evenly spaced decrease rows also gave me little ‘goals’ along the way - what better goal than a row where you get to decrease the number of stitches? If you take the time to steam block the piece (on the needles) after you complete the first several inches of the bottom, it is much more fun to hold up and show all the people who ask, ‘What are you making?’”
