Radler
Radler is a semi-circular shawl, reminiscent of a bicycle wheel. It is designed to be knitted to any size. Reverse stocking stitch panels are separated by spokes of lace which radiate from a central hub. Lace stitches are only worked on right side rows, wrong side rows are a combination of knit and purl. Optional beads are applied using the crochet hook method, and are used only in the hub and rim sections.
This shawl can be made using any thickness of yarn, and can be worked to any size by varying the number of repeats. The sample was worked on 3.75mm (US 5) needles, with 95g of heavy laceweight yarn.
The sample used 598 size 8 beads (approx. 40g), but these are optional. Beads are placed while knitting using the crochet hook method.
18 stitch markers are required (these mark increase points in the shawl).
Pattern has both written instructions and charts.
