Sci-Fi Socks
Sci-Fi Socks is a toe-up charted sock pattern knitted on two circular needles. Once I finished the test sock, I showed my husband who thought it looked like something out of a science fiction movie (a la Matrix films) and hence the socks were named.
The pattern is for a Womens Medium (64 sts) and Large (72 sts) size and features a smocked pattern on the front & back of leg, stranded pattern on the sole and short row heel. The smocked pattern can be done with or without a cable needle and I’ve included instructions for both.
This pattern is great for pairing dark and light colored yarns or a variegated with a solid yarn.
Medium size uses: One 50-gram ball of yarn in Main Color, One 50-gram ball of yarn in Contrast Color.
Large uses: Two 50-gram balls of yarn in Main Color, One 50-gram ball of yarn in Contrast Color.
