Pattern description from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: “I love that this project is both a gift in itself as well as a gift wrapping. It could beautifully hold a skein of handspun cashmere, a jewelry box, a handknit baby hat, or the Silk Camisole on page 96. The yarn is a lovely blend of alpaca and silk, which gives the pouch a soft, luscious drape and a lustrous sheen.”

Finished Measurements: 5 (6.75, 8)“ (12.5 [17, 20.5] cm) wide, and 8 (9, 10)” (20.5 [23, 25.5] cm) high, with top edge slightly rolled.

Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca and Silk (50% superfine alpaca, 50% silk; 146 yards [134 meters] / 50 grams): 1 (1, 2) skeins. Shown in book in #I10 ecru (small), #I16 spring (green, medium), and #I13 ice (blue, large).

Needles: One 16” (40 cm) circular needle size US 6 (4 mm). Two double-pointed needles size US 6 (4 mm). Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker, crochet hook size F/6 (4 mm) for applying fringe.

Is this project a gift or the wrapping? It’s both! Use this small drawstring pouch to hold your treasures or to hold a treasure for someone else. The pattern ranges from a pouch that is 5” wide and 8” high to a pouch that is 8” wide and 10” high.
