I am no designer, I can just follow and reproduce the lovely patterns the talented designer put up. This is not a very original thing either. Spike stitch is a very well known stitch and this particular shape of the bag is not uncommon at all. But this pattern, in this shape, has been a buzz in my head for quite some time. The problem, I mean the buzz, started when I got bitten by the bag bug while hosting the CAL/KAL for bags in South Asian Crafters. But I ignored it for some time. Slowly it started taking shape and when I was asked to host the CAL/KAL in Good Things Together, I thought might as well make this one and get it out of my head once for all!!
So here it is, and yes, thank you, the buzz is gone and I am feeling as air-headed as I feel normally!!
Must thank a couple of friends (they know who they are!), who had a disproportionate faith in my capabilities and insisted that I write it down, so the credit should go to them actually, for making me write it down!
I have not seen a pattern exactly as this one, though loads of similar ones exist.
You can use your colourful leftover yarns or make it with a planned colour scheme.
Gauge is not important for this bag, but use a suitable hook with the yarn, so that you get a fabric that you would like to have for this bag. You may also line the bag if you wish.
