The wrap is made by starting with a patterned center back panel (staghorn cable and lace columns), then stitches are picked up on either side of this to make the side panels and borders.

A picot cast off is used to make a decorative edge on the ends of the side panels.

The sample has been blocked quite strongly and measures 68” x 20” (172 x 51 cm).

It takes about 280g of worsted weight yarn - I used 3 x 100g skeins and had about 20g left over. A good strategy to ensure you have enough yarn for both sides would be to make the back panel, then divide your remaining yarn in half. You can always make one less pattern repeat per side if you are running short.

Please note - the pattern is written in uk terms.
