It wasn’t until 2004 that I learned how to knit. Our youngest, Talia grew up with all things fiber being the norm. I took her to work with me when I taught at the LYS, to knitting conventions, and to knit nite.
Talia is also my only child to start kindergarten at a traditional school.
In preparation for the big day, I knit her socks for her first day of school.
When I picked her up at the end of the day, her teacher relayed the story of Talia’s socks to me. Talia apparently was shocked to discover none of the other kids had hand knit socks.
Talia asked one child: “Your mom didn’t make your socks?! What Kind of mommie do you have?! Is she broken?! You need to make her knit socks and be a good one.”

This began the family quip, “ What kind of mommie do you have?!”

This year, the school uniform police have layed down the law and only blue or white socks are allowed. So we have had to make some more normal socks.

These socks are sized for your child’s first day of Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, Jr High, High School or even College.

Be a good mom. Knit Socks.
