Trean Tam
Trean is the Gaelic word for strong. The wrought iron gate stranded colorwork pattern gives a sense of majestic strength and yet has a classic beauty all it’s own.
This elegant piece start with a simple one-by-one rib that transitions quickly into wrought iron colorwork. The tam has a gentle slouch that is perfect for every day wear. This yarn produces a soft fabric with just a slight halo.
Yarn: MC: Black #24976: 1 ball, CC1: Cream #24974: 1 ball, CC2: Wine #25575: 1 ball
Note: 1 ball of the Knit Picks Capra Wine colorway was used to make both this tam and the coordinating Trean Cowl.
Materials: Stitch marker and a tapestry needle.
Skill Level: Intermediate. Example of skills: cable cast on, knitting in the round and stranded work in the round.
