I’m Emily, avid knitter and designer. I love luxury natural fibers, cardigans, and anything sparkly!

I began knitting at a young age - self taught with a encyclopedia, chopsticks and some old cotton string. My Mum saw my potential and located a nearby yarn shop for a couple classes. Everything took off from there… I am mainly self taught through trial & error in all my skills, knitting for myself, family and friends, spent several years knitting for the Mother Bear Project, and knitting shop samples. I was always experimenting with different yarns/patterns, often finding something to improve or change.

I opened an etsy shop (Girlpower Knits - www.girlpowerknits.com) in 2011 as I needed something to do with the completed pieces!
Soon after in 2012 I began writing and self-publishing my patterns, as I wanted to share new designs with the rest of the knitting world.

I knit daily, and am always working on new projects and designs. I need more hours in a day or another set of hands!
