#111 Long Lace Shawl-Collared Vest
11 sts = 3” 7.5 cm and 16 rows = 3” 7.5 cm in St st.
A vest that can make you feel instantly more gorgeous? This vest does just that! It’s highly sophisticated with many well-thought out details.
It’s worked from the bottom up in a pretty all-over lace pattern that is surprising simple to knit. Short rows are used to taper the front edges and allow them to hang at a seductive angle.
Decreasing at the waistline creates a very flattering gathered effect, at which point the vest transitions into a nicely textured cable pattern in front and 2x2 ribbing in the back for a great fitted shape.
Wide ribbed front bands are picked up and knit, as are the ribbed armbands. Then, the dramatic shawl collar is knit on and decreases are made to create a flattering, curved shape.
Closures are omitted to allow this vest to be worn many ways. Add a gorgeous pin to fasten it at the waist or higher up. Leave it open to showcase the angled front hem.
This piece will be a magnificent layering piece for all seasons, looking equally refined over a tank top, blouse, or dress. The only seaming is at the shoulders and the yarn is a luxe alpaca silk blend.
